Sustainability is at the very heart of our business. BR Metals recovers PGM like Platinum, Palladium and Rhodium from end-of-life catalytic converters and other precious metals scrap, and return them to the circular economy. We provide industries with high-demand, finite resources without any detrimental impact on the environment or communities while helping to conserve these resources for future generations.

This is in line with our mission to build an ecological responsible precious metals recycling business that delivers outstanding value to our customers, partner and stakeholders while ensuring the highest levels of integrity and transparency in every aspect of our operations. In short, we are committed to conducting our business in a socially responsible and environmentally sustainable manner.

Making a Difference through Education

At BR Metals, we believe education is one of the most powerful catalysts for positive change. It uplifts individuals, strengthens communities, and lays the foundation for long-term sustainability and prosperity. That’s why most of our corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives are rooted in advancing education, equity, and environmental stewardship – both within and beyond our industry.

The BR Metals Scholarship targets Singaporean students from low income families enrolled in SIT Chemical Engineering Bachelor Degree, and is valued at an aggregate of S$30,000 for a period of four years.

The BR Metals Scholarship

By establishing the BR Metals Scholarship at the Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT), we aim to support and nurture promising Singaporean undergraduates pursuing a full-time Chemical Engineering degree. This bond-free scholarship, valued at S$7,500 annually (totalling S$30,000 across four years), reflects our commitment to investing in local talent and cultivating practical skills critical to our industry’s sustainable growth. Through this partnership with SIT, we strive to equip young individuals with the expertise and confidence to lead innovative solutions for environmental sustainability and responsible resource management.

Empowered Youth Leadership Conference 2025 – Laos

As part of the Brands for Good initiative, we are proud sponsors of this national conference, designed to equip young Laotians with leadership skills and a strong sense of civic responsibility. It also strengthens our engagement with local universities, government agencies, and grassroots organisations working towards shared goals.

Book Donation to Public Libraries

BR Metals Guangzhou regularly donates books and journals about current environmental issues, urban mining and conservation to public libraries in the city where we operate. We are hopeful our book donations will raise awareness and inspire actions to save our planet for future generations.

The Bringing Quality Education to Underprivileged Children in Rural Laos

We believe education plays a vital role in inclusive growth and equitable development, especially in developing countries. We support the education of underprivileged children by partnering with Singapore-based AZK Business Consultants and the Phongsavanh Foundation to build a school in rural Laos. Once opened, the school will provide free quality primary education and meals to for children from low-income families in one of the most improvised districts in Laos.

Bringing Quality Education to Underprivileged Children in Rural Laos

We believe education plays a vital role in inclusive growth and equitable development, especially in developing countries.

We support the education of underprivileged children by partnering with Singapore-based AZK Business Consultants and the Phongsavanh Foundation to rebuild a village school for children from farming communities in the rural, mountainous province of Xaysomboun, Laos.

The dilapidated old school was at risk of collapsing as termite infestation had wreaked havoc and caused extensive damage to the wooden roof and structural support. There was no clean drinking water, toilets, and hand-washing facilities, putting the children at risk of disease.

The new school was completed in 2021. More than just a fresh coat of paint, the school features new classrooms and standard desks and chairs so that students can receive their education in a safe and comfortable environment. In addition, separate toilets facilities for girls and boys as well as a clean water supply were also built within the school compound. We also sponsor provide free education and meals for the children so that they can stay in school longer and receive a proper education.

Now, the children not only have a conducive study environment but also a safe place for them to play after school.

Making Our Community a Better Place

BR Metals spearheads and participates in a number of green initiatives and community involvement activities to strengthen our relationships with local governments, residents and community partners. These include:

Pro Bono SG – Advancing Equal Access to Justice

We proudly support Pro Bono SG to promote access to legal aid for vulnerable individuals. This initiative reflects our ongoing commitment to social justice and building a more equitable society.

Uplifting Underserved Communities

Caring for Seniors – Bukit Gombak GRC

We contribute to the Senior Citizens Programme Fund, helping elderly residents of the Pioneer and Merdeka Generations receive nutritious meals and participate in meaningful social activities that enrich their lives.

Aid for Migrant Communities During COVID-19

During the pandemic, BR Metals supported The Migrant Centre in Singapore through multiple rounds of essential donations, helping guest workers in dormitories during quarantine.

Environmental Education in Guangzhou

We donated books on sustainability, urban mining, and environmental conservation to public libraries in Guangzhou — helping raise awareness about resource preservation and circular economy principles.

River Rehabilitation & Ecosystem Restoration

Our team in Guangzhou took part in river clean-up and tree planting activities, working to prevent erosion, restore ecosystems, and promote a greener, healthier environment.

Our staff regularly takes part in the clean-up and rehabilitation of rivers, ponds and parklands in Guangdong. Together with our community partners, we clean up rubbish and plant trees along riverbanks to prevent soil erosion and provide shade to visitors.

Lending a Helping Help to the Less Fortunate

e Singapore office makes a monthly contribution to Club-100 @ North West, and takes part in most outreach activities organised by the Club and Northwest Community Development Council (CDC). Our contribution is helping more than 1300 needy families in Singapore’s Northwest district. We are honoured to play a part in helping the less fortunate in our community, and help our CDC to foster a caring and healthy North West community.
