Singapore, June 27, 2018 – BR Metals, a leading precious metals recycling company that specialises in spent catalytic converters processing announced today that it has been awarded the sustainable, environmentally responsible ISO 14001:2015 standard for its Singapore operations. This latest version of the international standard for environmental management systems raises the bar for compliance with the highest standards of environmental responsibility across all areas of business operations, processes, products and services. It also places an increased emphasis on continuous improvement and the leadership of management.
Following the ISO 14001 accreditation of its Guangzhou site in August last year, BR Metals Singapore also implemented an Environmental Management System (EMS) as part of the renewed ISO 2015 standards accreditation process. This series of initiatives were developed to reduce impact on the environment and includes the introduction of new systems to reduce the use of non-renewable resources like electricity and fuel as well as processes to manage and recycle office and industrial wastes. “The measures are bound to increase our operating cost in these very challenging times for our industry, but we remain resolute in our commitment to meeting stringent environmental protection standards and will continually improve how we monitor, identify and manage environmental issues”, commented Frank Chen, Managing Director of BR Metals on the certification.
