BR Metals Named Champion in the Business for Good Category at the Brands for Good Awards 2025

Singapore, 24 July 2025 – BR Metals, Asia’s leading processor of spent catalytic converters and recycler of precious metal scraps, has been awarded Champion in the Business for Good category at the Brands for Good Awards 2025, a prestigious accolade that honours companies creating meaningful social and environmental impact through responsible business practices.

The award was presented to Mr Frank Chen, Managing Director of BR Metals, by Mr Edwin Tong, Singapore’s Minister for Law and Second Minister for Home Affairs, at the official ceremony in Singapore.

This marks BR Metals’ third win at the Brands for Good Awards — a reflection of its deep and ongoing commitment to building a business that combines innovation, environmental responsibility, and social purpose.

“This recognition reinforces our belief that business must do more than create value for customers and stakeholders. It must uplift communities and protect the planet,” said Mr Frank Chen. “At BR Metals, we’re proud to contribute to the circular economy by recovering precious metals, and equally proud of the impact we’re making through education, sustainability, and social justice.”

BR Metals specialises in the recovery of platinum group metals (PGMs), including platinum, palladium, and rhodium — from end-of-life automotive catalytic converters and a wide range of high-value scrap materials, including electronic components, jewellery sweeps, and industrial residues. With a reputation for transparency, precision, and environmental integrity, BR Metals serves as a trusted partner for clients across Asia.

Beyond its core business, the company has developed a robust corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme, designed to create long-term, inclusive impact. Highlights include:

  • Scholarships at the Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT) and Singapore Management University (SMU) for students in sustainable development fields.
  • Co-funding the construction of Keosamy Primary School and a clean water system in rural Laos to provide safe, accessible education and sanitation
  • Support for Pro Bono SG, promoting equal access to legal aid for vulnerable communities, regardless of income or background
  • Community programmes for youth development, senior citizens, and migrant worker welfare
  • Environmental outreach, including sustainability education, book donations, and ecosystem restoration projects

As BR Metals expands its operations in Vietnam, Malaysia and Thailand, it is actively seeking new opportunities to contribute to local communities, through partnerships and initiatives that reflect its values of equity, transparency, and sustainability.

The company extends its sincere thanks to its clients, partners, and friends for their continued trust and support, and to the organisers of the Brands for Good Awards for recognising businesses that lead with heart, integrity, and purpose.
